International Day of Democracy—–In 2007 the United Nation General Assembly decided to observe 15 September as the International Day of Democracy and invited all member states and organizations to commemorate the day in an appropriate manner that contributes to raising public awareness .
The preamble of the resolution affirmed that: —– while democracies share common features, there is no single model of democracy and that Democracy does not belong to any country or region… . Democracy is a universal value based on the freely-expressed will of people to determine their own political, economic, social and cultural systems, and their full participation in all aspects of life. Vaishali- the world’s first democratic republics —Vaishali (BIHAR) was the first republic of world (some says Athens,Greek) today vaishali is a small village in Bihar, today it is famous for rice , mango and banana farms, We know that Vaishali is first democatre republics with an elected assembly of representatives in the 6th century B.C. in the time of lichavis, on same time the great maurya kings rules in Patliputra the capital of maurya vaishali was the the centre of trade and education for long time. Vaishali name representing king Vishal ,the epic Ramayan tells us the story of great king vishal who was the great and kind king of this state in past. Vaishali is also famous for Lord budha visit and lord Mahaveer born naer by vaishali, Great emperor Samrat Ashok (in 300 BC) erected Lion pilors , The ashok stambh.. the symbol of INDIAN DEMOCRACY .
Vaishali is one of the great place to visit, to know the about the history of our country and history of Buddhas and Janis .
